Georgette VS Chiffon
What's the difference?
You might be feeling a little ruffled when trying to decide between buying Chiffon or Georgette.
Just what is the difference?
Well to put it plainly, Chiffon is lighter, slippery and also more sheer than it's counterpart, Georgette.
Being more sheer, means you require layering. Most Hijabis opt for an undercap, not only for non slipping, but also to create a more opague look.
Georgette has a tighter twisted thread, which makes it a more opague material. And because of this it also makes it longer lasting and the more durable choice.
Georgette has a few variations.
Stretch Georgette has a crepe texture and a light stretchy feel.
Double Georgette is smoother but doesn't have any stretch to it.
Poly Georgette is made of polyester and has a rougher texture.
Silk Georgette is the softest and hypoallergenic.
So which one should you choose?
Well that depends on you. Both Chiffon & Georgette are gorgeous and lovely to wear.
Try experimenting with both and find your preference.
