Scrunchies are back

Scrunchies have come, and gone, and come again. 

Many ask when seeing scrunchies "Are scrunchies back?"

Like many things that trend, they never really left the scene. The hype around them just quietened. But with all the healthy hair movements, scrunchies have definitely come back.

What's so amazing about a scrunchie anyway??

As someone who made statements like "I only wear thin elastics because the rest are too bulky for my hair." I can assure you after making the slow change to scrunchies, I will never wear thin elastic hair ties again.

I thought it was normal to have hair twisted around those thin elastics. We lose over a 100 hairs a day apparently, so it only makes sense to have them twisted around thin elastic hair bands. Boy was I wrong! 

Those hairs are your snapped hair strands from using the elastic hair bands. Safe to say, I know better now.

My experience using scrunchies feels like a relatively good one. The first thing I noticed was no hair strands twisted around my scrunchie....Like what?!?!

Which meant healthier hair overall. The only downside would be your scrunchies need to be kept clean. Like clothing, material holds onto sebum, stains and smells. Washing them with a plain detergent and making sure they are rinsed thoroughly. No fabric softener needed, as this just coats the material in a waxy texture. 

I'll let you in on my little hack. I wash them with my shampoo in the shower when washing my hair.

Yep. That easy.

The second thing would be, trial and error with finding a comfortable scrunchie. Not all scrunchies are equal as with everything in life unfortunately.

When you find a scrunchie that fits and feels comfortable, hold onto it because you might not find another comfy one after another load of trial and error.
